Fletcher Cove Beach Park
I think Fletcher Cover is overlooked by a lot of folks in San Diego. You'll find more locals frequenting this cool spot than you will tourists. Really, they don't know what they're missing out on because it's rarely busy like the nearby beaches. Maybe I just let the secret out...whoops! Whether you prefer wet or dry land, this park has countless activities
This park also has a huge grass area, mini amphitheater area, clean modern bathrooms open long hours, the entire park is always clean & well manicured. The seating here is super cool, everywhere there are little poems and dedications interspersed artistically with shapes of sea creatures and beautiful colorful shells, tiles and stones.
Here is what people say who have been there:

The beach is never really crowded. Parking always seems to be available. Clean bathrooms, nice jungle gym, outdoor shower, elevated picnic area. If you're not going in the ocean, you can sit at the picnic table and gaze at the waves, from atop the cliff.
I never have a bad day here

We stopped here on a whim on our way home from Encinitas and am so glad we did. We had an impromptu picnic on a lovely little table overlooking the pacific. My daughter loved the small playground and I loved the ocean view as I pushed her on the swings!! Thanks to yelp for helping me find this gem. We plan on going back soon!!

It's really cool looking, also known as pillbox due to the concrete bunker thing up top. Great view, and really easy to get to in solana beach. Fletcher has a playground, full bathrooms, showers, picnic tables, a nice lawn and of course an easy ramp down the cliff to the beautiful beachfront. The crowd is generally mellow and the beach is very safe via the lifeguard HQ right there.
Amazing place to take little ones or get a mid-day beach escape for yourself. Plenty of stuff to do within walking distance too, so might as well hit this up if you're in solana for something else.

Are the gold flecks in the sand and water mica?
This beach was surprisingly uncrowded last weekend. Hat a really fantastic time in the waves!!!

We were here after 11am on a summer Sunday and found parking within 1 block. Shocking.
The beach is small with a very attentive lifeguard tower. Not to mention the crew up on the cliff. If you swim here, I think you will be very safe.
Waves were too small to pass judgement, but DS1 noted that you'd get a longer ride here - it's a much more gradual dropoff than points north.
Nice to have the (1) shower. And the playground is groovy if you have little groms.
We'll be back.

I heart you, Fletcher Cove. I think my favorite is the guy wearing spandex practicing moves that somewhat resemble karate moves.
Even when it's busy, it doesn't seem to get too crowded.

I recently revisited Fletcher Cove Park for the first time since it's redesign and it's still a great place to chill out with your loved ones.
As previously mentioned by other reviewers, Fletcher Cove's got a bunch of great features in a compact space. Even with these features present, the park still feels like you can get away and have some time to your self because there are terraces and paths that separate space. On my recent visit, there was a class of elementary kids playing and being pretty loud, but I was still able to enjoy some peace while sipping on my coffee... just watching the waves with some lifeguards that were there.
I do have some negatives to mention though. As a result of the redesign, some trees near the entry on Lomas Santa Fe have been removed and shade trees still aren't present much within the park. Sure this is Socal, palms trees are 'it' and Vitamin D is good. But if you're here during the summer, Fletcher Cove isn't a great place to literally chill out.
Another thing that the redesign didn't reconcile is the ramp down to the beach. The rest of the park is accessible for handicapped and compromised people, but I guess they'll have to enjoy the beach from the observation deck? What if my old dad wants to feel some sand under his feet?
Regardless of this, the new Fletcher Cove park is for the most part, a considerate response to the needs of the resident community and should be enjoyed by most.

Fletcher Cove is a cute little beach park. It's great for kids, with the playground area and grassy area on the top. It's small, but everything you need is right there--showers, play area, bathrooms, picnic tables, the beach! I love the strange-looking giant black flowers tucked amongst the palm trees.
Tide Beach Park
Tide Beach park is beautiful sandy beach on the north end of Solana Beach Ca. It is not crowded, and very secluded. You will have to leave your car on the street and get down to the water by staircase. Please note that there are no public restrooms available. The beach has a large reef, called Table Tops, which offers good surfing, snorkeling, surf-fishing, and swimming. Tide pools are located at the north end of the beach. The beach is hidden by bluffs and a lot of people and tourist just passes it by without knowing about it. It is one of a kind experience.

This is the spot right here!!
One of the more accessible DL beaches ive come across so far. Always clean, usually barely any people down there, and when there are people, its so spaced out that everyone can find their own nook to just chill and kick it!
The water is pretty much always nice, waves are decent, and parking is not a battle most of the time! No public bathrooms, but there are lifeguards on duty in the summertime and the staircase makes it accessible for the old folks (my pops, ha!) to get down and thoroughly enjoy!
Come pick me up, seriously, i'll roll a blunt and bring some water to drink! Im ready right now, just call me when ya outside!

I went here because of Seven's review! I didn't want to go somewhere with a ton of reviews in the summer where I knew I wouldn't get parking and where the beach would be crowded. This place is great. Hardly anyone was there and it was so peaceful and quiet. The sun and water felt great today! -1 for seaweed being all over the place with fleas, having one of those giant black bugs with the green shine on them climb on my leg, and for the giant staircase :)
420 friendly!
